    1. MILLS
    2. Hi. My name is Pavla and I'm searching for several surnames; the one I know to have been in Guernsey co, tho, is MILLS. I have James Lewis MILLS born either 1830 or `1832 G county; I don't know his parents' names. James lived primarily in the Allen county area, died 1910 Lima, Allen county. He married Philomena Shaffer May 1860. Philomena (Philena) and James are on several census records together Allen county; too, I think I found him earlier living with Philomena's family before they were married. Before that, ?? I tracked MILLS all over the place and think I've narrowed down to 2 possibilities for James' father: Nathan and Thomas. I found a Squire Mills with wife Mary Jane Sutton living in Amanda, Allen co, OH for several of the censuses when James is in Allen county, even living near some of Philomena's Shaffer kin. I don't know if Squire's related but he could be an older brother; he was b ca 1824. I found info that Squire's father was Rev Nathan Mills and that Squire was b in Noble county, OH. Noble is near Guernsey; I think there are several counties formed from parts of one another incl Noble,Guernsey, etc. Nathan Mills appears on the tax records of Guernsey co for I think either 1824 or 1825, prob the latter. Too, there's a question there may have been more than 1 Nathan Mills near that same general area. I know there's a Nathan son of Thomas and Verlinda Mills but that Nathan's dates don't jive with someone who would have my James ca 1830, 1832. Too, Thomas and Verlinda also have a son James but he is not mine; still.... I would like to hear from any and all MILLS descendants, either to see if our lines might connect or to see if they are ones I can eliminate as possibilities. Too, if anyone out there has a missing James b ca 1830, 1832, he may be mine! I hope to hear back from you! Pavla Chandler
