They are found in federal census reports until year 1900 for Washington Twp. He married Sarah O Perkins - the daughter of Samuel B Perkins b. 1814 OH / Mary Shatto b. PA and they had 8~10 children. Do these names sound familiar to anyone? I wonder if there are any cemetery records ? Connected also to Lewis / Nancy is another son, Alfred who married Sarah's sister Harriet.

Then just one more question - could that Andrew have been a son or grandson of a James Henderson? This James was a brother of my 4-great grandfather John, and he remained in PA, when John immigrated to Belmont Co. Ohio. I have almost no information on James, except that he was evidently an older brother to John, and thus would have been born prior to 1747 in Co. Down Ireland. The family settled near Lewistown PA in Cumberland Co. (later Mifflin Co.) in 1758. Thank you very much in advance. ML Coombs.

Author: ML Coombs <[email protected]> Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AWB.2ACE/1365.1.1.2 Message Board Post: I have a Henderson question for you. My maternal grandmother was a Henderson from near Quaker City (Guernsey Co. Ohio.) She was the great granddaughter of William and Nancy Ann Clendennon Henderson, and the 2-great granddaughter of John and Martha Long Henderson who came from PA to Belmont Co. Ohio about 1804 (John was born in County Down Ireland and came to PA with his parents when he was 11 - in 1758.) I do not have this particular Andrew Henderson in my database - but I am wondering if he could be a grandson of John and Martha Long Henderson - born to their son Thomas, or their son John M. Henderson?? (my 3-great grandfather was their oldest son William.) I have been researching the Hendersons, as well as my maternal grandfather's Elliott family (Muskingum Co. Ohio) for almost 5 years. I will be happy to share anything I have, and would love to fill in more branches of the Henderson Tree. Thank you. ML Coombs

Marshall listed in Andrew's will was also born about 1838 according to my files. I can't find the source document right now, but I think it came from the 1850 Census, Ohio, Guernsey Co., Westland Twp., p. 472. It sounds likely that she could be the same person that married Samuel Marshall. Mary's sister, Martha, is my ancestor. Mary's parents are Andrew Henderson, born 13 Dec 1802 in Pennsylvania, died 2 Mar 1875, and Mary S. Mitchell, born about 1807 in Pennsylvania. They were married 29 Mar 1827 in Belmont County, Ohio. If you determine that this is the right Mary, I would like to get some more information about Mary's decendants. Could you send me some details?
