Hello List: Does anyone know what happened to the records of the Ohio Soldiers & Sailors Orphan Home that was located in Greene County? I have a cousin that was in that home in 1945 and would like to see the records of her stay there to learn more why she was put there. Her father was in the service at the time. Any help would be appreciated. Or if you can give me an address of someone that could help me in my cousin's quest to know more about her past while she was staying at the O.S & S. O. home. Hi, my husband used to work at the O.V.C.H. in Xenia, that is what it was last called, but was the O.S & S.O home, I will ask him and let you know,,this was just about 10 years ago he worked there, but he quit before they closed it down,,,not sure he know's of old records, will let you know if you keep in touch with me,,,thanks Deb

The records for OVCH were shipped to the Ohio Department of Education. The Greene County Room of the Library has some very old records on file, but I've not seen much there after 1900. If you need very old records for ancestors, email me at [email protected] and I'd be happy to check for you. Again, the ones I've seen there are before 1900.
