Guess I misunderstood you. I do know that Clark and Champaign Counties were combined at one time. I thought you wanted to know about Greene and Clark Counties. That I do'n't know. I hope to go to the library for a while today and will find out. Helen
It seems to me that I remember reading that Clark and Champaign counties were once combined. I`m almost positive about that but can`t give you any specifics. You might contact the folks in Champaign County or go to the Clark County Homepage at rootsweb.com/~ohclark/index.htm and ask Sara Greer the county coordinator. She`s very helpful on such matters. Hi, I am not sure if Greene and Clark Counties were one at one time. I should check on that for my own info. I know Fayette and Ross Counties were combined at some point but I dont know about Greene and Clark. Helen
Helen, Have you seen Saums or Vail in Greene County records as you researched? Wasn't Greene and Clark the same at one time or am I confused. I live in Michigan and will check at the LDS library or at Toledo. Thanks Tootsie [email protected] wrote: > Tootsie, > > Death records in Greene County did not exist until 1869. Tootsie, Death records in Greene County did not exist until 1869. There are 10 volumes of cemeteries at the local library that could be checked for his name. They are indexed. Helen
Hi, I am sorry to be like a bad penny and keep turning up. E.B. Martin was my gggrandfather and I found him on the 1860 census for Greene Co. page 519 Miami Twp. Unfortunately what I saw didn't give me who or how many lived with him. His wife, my gggrandmother was Rachel Vail Martin. Now if he died in Greene Co what cemeteries should I check? Or would Greene Co. have a death record 1860 on? Tootsie
