Thanks to all who gave me info on the Coy cemetery. I always wondered which cemetery it was when I past it while doing my research in greene Co. The location is quite possibly the final resting place of my wife's 4 x great grandfather. Steve
Hello Steve, There is a Coy Cemetery at the intersection of Fairfield road and Indian Ripple, that you might be looking for, It is just north of the Mt. Zion Cemetery. I hope this helps. Joe z.

Re yesterday's post seeking three Pickering children - Margaret, Charles and John Franklin (who might appear as John or Frank) in the 1880 census of Greene County, OH: Margaret is found. She is the Maggie Pickering in Caesor Creek Twp. Is census data ever solid proof? Well: how many 8-year-old Maggie Pickerings whose parents were both born in Virginia could be living in the same township but not the same household with their widowed father that year? She is living in the home of Samuel and Elizabeth Rudduck (possibly Budduck - but God, I hope not; the enumerator's writing is tough but say Budduck out loud to hear why that would be tougher). Samuel's 45, Elizabeth's 47. They are in dwelling 46, family 48, on page 221A. Maggie's widowed father, Joseph, is over on page 219B, dwelling and family 14. I don't see the Rudducks' connection with the Pickerings, if any, but all four of their parents - like Joseph Pickering - were born in Virginia. I had hoped that all three children would be in the same place. No such luck, and no offense to Maggie the most important to me is the direct ancestor, John Franklin "Frank" Pickering. He should be 3, maybe 4, in this census - and I still think he's going to be in either Caesor Creek or Spring Valley township, possibly in a Pickering or Orndorff household. My thanks!! _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Can anyone tell me where the Coy cemetery is located in Greene Co. I'm trying to justify a burial there in relation to where the persons lived. Steve

I have a Sophia Barr who moved to Noble Co., IN & married William Rose in 1860. I believe Sophia came from OH...possible Fairfield or Pickaway Cos. It is also possible that she is connected with Greene Co. 'cause William had aunts and uncles living in that area aft 1831. Does your John Barr have a child named Sophia. Maybe she was a sister to John?? marg Bond ============================================================= WEB SITE: Rose Family SEARCHING: Bidlack, Crum, Dundore, Gottschalk, Hammond, Lemar, Martin, Mooney, Opliger, ROSE, Sennett, Sirk, Woodring. I have just found my gg grandpa, ISAAC NEWTON BARR born in Greene Co. on 24 Feb 1854. He Married Mary Livensburger on 4 Apr 1884 and she died on 19 Feb 1887. Can you tell me the names of any children born to this couple? Mary Livensburger was born in Columbus. Isaac Newton's Father was John Barr, born in Penn. He died in Ohio in 1917. John' wife/Isaac's mother was Margaret Vanhook. John & Margaret had 12 children who were believed to have been born in Greene Co. to include Isaac, Patience, Henry & Joseph. Who were the rest of their children? Any & all info will be appreciated. Sheila Shuman Anderson
Will they post the names of the graves on a list with the state cemetery whoever? I have had problems with research in MO.

Oh my goodness. always thought this game was dusty/musty. Now it's gone to WORMS and DISEASED MINDS!!! While I have your attention, couple misc itmes. Looking for Sherman Oliver. He probably lived in Xenia 1934, when he married Leana May (Shears) Tobin. Lena May Shears was born 25 Nov, 1891, Cedarville Twp, Greene Co. She married 1, Sherman Oliver. They had 2 sons, Wiliam and Fred. Marriage application for Leana and #2 Vernon Leon Tobin, Jan. 1934, shows divorced from Sherman. (note: "Pork Chop Murder" Wiliiam shot Vernon March 1942, causing his death sevral days later) Since Lena born, 2 marriages in Greene Co, thinking Sherman should show up there also. DOB DOD and locations if you know them. Also, have a email from a Shears researcher, of Grandview Cemetery Section 10, Chillicothe,Ohio. Lists a Shears headstone with 6 names on it. One of them is Eleanor Shears Miller, 1871-1901. Any connections?
