    2. Tootsie, This Ephraim Martin is one of my Martins and so is Samuel and Elizabeth, his parents.. I have deeds, guardianship papers and wills that confirm this.. I believe we have corresponded before, my Martin family is pretty nailed down except for where in the world Samuel and Elizabeth came from since they both died before the 1850 census.. write me if you need more.. 3. So where does Bellbrook fit in. I know where Xenia is, Fairborn etc. Lived in Fairborn when it was Fairfield and then when it was Fairborn. Never worried about townships before. 3. I have land transactions from Greene County. William and Sarah Bell to Ephriam Martin, Bellbrook, Greene Co. 1836. Now this E. Martin could be my ggrandfather. I also have one that mentions Samuel Martin and wife Elizabeth. Other surnames mentioned. Do these names mean anything to anyone? Also I know Bellbrook has been mentioned on the list but unfortunately I don't remember where someone said it was. I didn't realize I might need to know some day. Tootsie

    1. [OHGREENE-L] Moses I and Moses II
    2. Rejoice fellow gen followers I think I have found some threads right here in Ohio country! Moses I went to Butler Co. Ohio - Ohio Tax lists of 1807 and a Census of White Male Inhabitants of over 21, Butler County, Ohio, 1807! There he was Badgely, Moses 2, Le (Lemon Township). I copied the whole thing so will look for more fellow travelers. I found his son from his first wife in Preble Co. I will give you all more information later when I get it all figured out. I am in a little bit of shock. If I am right about the timing, Benjamin Badgely lived in New Lexington/West Alexandria area when the rest of my Preble roots were there. The children must have played together and he worked as a labor in Sugar Grove, the cemetery that my ancestors gave the land for on their farm. My mother never knew this. My father who Mom met in Dayton, loved Lewisburg and wanted to be buried in Sugar Grove, never knowing that his grandmother Henrietta's father, Moses Badgley and grandfather, Benjamin Badgley lived there and Benjamin died there! Thus we have Moses II who ended up in Greene, Madison and eventually Clark Co. Boy, have I been on a chase! I thank the people of Madison Co. for their help and that History of Madison Co. of 1883 which led to all of this. I thank all the other people on various lists who have been sending me tid bits here and there to file away and then when BANG it all comes together, I am in tears! I wish so much that my parents were alive to know how connected the two line of families all are to each other. I will share all this just as soon as I get all the footnotes etc. together. I still need to figure how Moses I got to Greene Co. as stated in 1818 Robinson's History and how Benjamin got to Preble from the War of 1812. Feel free to e: mail me privately but I believe in these public lists. They work!! Linda Swaney Sabin

    1. [OHGREENE-L] Ritter/Smith
    2. Hello. I am trying to find the parents and siblings of LEVI RITTER (RETTER) and ELIZABETH SMITH. Levi was born in Greene County on October 24, 1826. Elizabeth Smith was born about 1830 in Mercer County, New Jersey. They were married on September 3, 1850 in Greene County and sometime in 1850, moved to Logan County where they remained for the rest of their lives. I know that Elizabeth's mother was named Acsah and that Elizabeth had a sister named Susan. Acsah and Susan are buried in Logan County. I have no information on Levi's parents or siblings. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Beth Lias
