Hi; I'm researching James McKinlay who came from NY about 1815 or so to Painesville. His son Peter McKinley [note spelling] was involved in business dealing with Alva[h] Cable, with whom he ran a trading business on Beaver Island MI,[about 1848] maintaining contact with Fairport or Painesville. He married Ellen Vosburgh in Geauga Co 1836, and I'm also trying to find her ancestry. Bill
