    3. Hello list, I'm sure glad to have this list. Most of my relatives are from northeastern Ohio and my father's father's family lived in Parkman. They were Marion Thomas GARBER b 1871 d 1944 and Minnie Phadima HOPKINS b 1876 d 1957. They ran a store in Parkman. I just finished a book called "Pioneers and General History of Geauga" which is online at familytreemaker.com genealogy library by subscription. It's probably available at local libraries for free. Many relatives in there including my 3rd great-grandfather Leonard MERRITT who was father of my 2nd great grandmother Permelia Northrup MERRITT b 1823 d 1910. Surnames of cousins and such include HOSMER, ENSIGN, FARRINGTON, and SPERRY to name a few. My 3rd great-grandfather William Augustus HOPKINS b1796 d 1862 was a millwright who aided in construction of mills built near Parkman on the Grand River. My 2nd great-grandfather Matthew Alexander HOPKINS b 1820 d 1911 built a steam saw mill and a house in Parkman in 1847. At the time of its writing in 1878 there were no GARBERs in sight. My 92-year-old Aunt, who got me started on this family history stuff, currently resides with her daughter in Chardon. I sure would like to hear from anyone who knows of the above families.
