Charlie, that negative scanner is very limited. You can only do strips. I have an Epson /Epson Perfection 4180 Photo. It does slides , negatives of all sizes.. and I can take a large negative scan it into two pieces and then stitch it back together. If you look on galliagenealogy.org you will see the black and white negatives that were my fathers. I took those from negatives to pictures. I have not had any trouble with this scanner. It was bought on sale at Staples. I paid just a little over $125 for it . It is a flat bed. I had to learn of course how to manipulate the resolution and the types of scanning.. but it is a wonderful tool . I can also use it as a copier, because of the one feature.
