Dear Karen: Just now, I spent the last 1/2 hour going page by page through the 1830 Census Records, for Cheshire, Gallia County, Ohio AND Addison, Gallia County Ohio and found only 1 Joseph Darst at the listed age that we have for him. According to the census records though, they had more children than just Fannie and Elizabeth AND they are listed as not having twin girls, but rather a few years apart. Who determined that they had twins anyway? Sometimes, we [I know I'm guilty of it] just copied from the Ancestry.Com and don't really know where the info even came from. I'll have to check the 1840 census and see what I find there. Maybe one of the boys, [4 are listed as living with Joseph Durst] in the 1830 Cheshire census, helped to raise the younger ones with their own wives. The wife [Joseph Durst's wife] was listed as being around the same age range as husband. He didn't remarry though until 1842 so that information may be incorrect or else he raised those girls for quite awhile by himself. SORRY -- I have some Rife information. Also I think the Fanny was actually Veronica named for her grandmother. Gma' Frany Overholtzer Darst died in 1842. Wonder if Joseph lived with his folks after Hattie (Harriet) died and when mom died he realized just how much work it was and remarried -- speculation time only :) ----- Original Message ----- From: Teresa M.
