Hello, John Johnston, Jr. and others. My great great grandmother was a Margaret Johnston, who married John Rose in Gallia County on May 14, 1844; they lived in Greenfield Township. My Margaret was born in Ohio on December 3, 1825, died on December 4, 1908, was buried in Gallia Baptist Cemetery; and I show that she was the daughter of William Johnston (b. abt 1790 in Pennsylvania) and Rachel Carter (b. abt 1791 in West Virginia). However, I am not at all sure of her parentage; I found it in Rootsweb, but that is the only place I have seen it. I don't know if my William is related to John Johnston Jr.'s William or not.
