I've just about had it with Evan Evans from Wales and all of his little Evans' Family! First I had Evan W. Evans [born 1828 in Wales] married to a Rachel Morgan. But, I couldn't find an Evan Evans ANYWHERE in the census records married to any Rachel's. I did find in the 1860 census records though, the following: 1860 Census Records: Perry Township, Gallia County, Ohio 13 July 1860 Evan Evans, 32, M, Farmer, Wales Anna, 30, F, Wales Mary, 10, F, Ohio Margrette, 6, F, Ohio John Lewis, 3, M, Ohio David, 3, M, Ohio The children match the children I have to Evan Evans and Rachel Morgan. So, I disconnected Rachel and Added Ann Unknown as the Mother. [Thinking that I probably copied Rachel Morgan from Ancestry somewhere from someone who had the wrong info.] I also found them in the 1880 census Records, with the same names, only older, living in Pomeroy, Meigs County, Ohio. I can't find them anywhere for 1870. When I searched Ancestry and Familysearch.org, there are so many Evan Evans and Ann's, that I don't know which one they are Does anyone have any Evan Evans on your tree. What do you have? Thanks, Teresa Herrmann Columbus, Ohio
Evan Evans is/was a very popular name ! I even used to know one who went to the First Baptist Church in Gallipolis when I was a tadpole in the 1950's and 1960's. As for MORGAN, perhaps around Morgantown, WV, or Fairmont, WV would be a place to look for Rachel. Perhaps your Evan found here there. On 5/4/2008, "Teresa M.
