Teresa, I have Joseph Rife, born 16 Sep 1758 in Greenbriar County, VA, married to Margaret Carpenter, also born 1758.? They married 16 Sep 1779 in Virginia.? I have these notes: He built a grist mill in Gallia County in 1808 and there is a picture of this stone in?my Rife file/notebook.? The Free Will Baptist Church in Addison Twp., Gallia County was organized at the home of Paul Darst on 15 December 1805.? The first couple listed in the membership were Joseph & Margaret Rife. This Joseph and Margaret had 7 children: Nancy, Catherine, Joseph, Jacob, Hernry, Esther, and Margaret.? The son Joseph married Elizabeth (Betsey) Howard and they had 8 children.? I don't have a son of Joseph and Elizabeth named Henry.? The Henry, son of Joseph and Margaret, married Tabitha Martindale.? It would seem that Henry had to be the son of Joseph and Margaret as he was born in 1790 and they were married in 1779.?
