Mary, I have the book "The Hughes Family From Virginia to Oregon" by Patty Barhell Myers. It begins with William Hughes and goes on to include your Levi Hughes b. in VA 1838 md. Mary L. Eagle b. Gallia Co. abt 1839. He is in this book as a son of Jackson Hughes b. 1790/1800 d. 1874 M. Apr 22, 1821 Lavina/Lavinah I. Ash b. Jan 16, 1800 dau of Christopher Ash. I have the names and date for the other children of Jackson and Lavina if you want those. Levi Hughes was the son of Jackson Hughes Lavina Ash, who was son of Jonathan Hughes and Sarah Abigail, son of Hugh Hughes, son of William Hughes. The book has lots more details on each of these families. My Hughes line is William thru his son Thomas [brother to Hugh Hughes] and then thru Jesse Hughes [son of Thomas] and Grace Tanner's dau. Rachel Hughes who married my 3rd great grandfather Wm. Cottrell in 1794 in Harrison Co., VA/WV. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with on the Hughes line.
