    2. Karen
    3. Jackson Co., OH Marriages Wallace, James and Aleshire, Martha 1848 Dec. 21 by Petty, Samuel Rev. For the information of others and posting to the Gallia Genealogy website. I think this should be Jackson Standard Journal? Jackson-Standard Feb 14th, 1878 "The following appeared in the Gallipolis Journal a few weeks ago: James Wallace, commonly called Jimmy Wallace, died on the the 21st inst. He would have been 86 years old next March. His wife died a week before him. Mrs. Wallace was a sister of Enoch Russell, of Bloomfield township, in this county. She was once the wife of Peter Aleshire, one of the pioneer Baptist preachers of this county." I have little information about this Wallace line. I'm looking for the parents of James Wallace b abt 3/1793 VA d. 1/21/1878 Gallia Co. and also the name of his 1st wife. His 2nd wife Martha "Patsy" Russell Aleshire Wallace was a daughter of Enoch Russell Sr. & his wife Ruth, and also a sister to Randal & Enoch Russell Jr. Martha "Patsy" Russell was b abt 1795 in NC, most likely Rockingham Co., she d abt 1/14/1878 Gallia Co......Huntington? It appears as though the children of James & his 1st wife were: Hulda Jane m. John White, Phebe K. m. George W. Folden, Rebecca m. James M. Warren, Sarah Ann m. Charles Davis, & Elizabeth. I also have James H. and/or Harrison, and did have John S. as a speculative son of James Wallace. I don't have access to Gallia Co. marriages or the 1850 census anymore but James & Martha Wallace were 1860 & 1870 in Huntington, Gallia Co. 1860 Huntington, Gallia Co., OH Census Living in the home of James and Martha is Pheby K. 15, Charles Bishop 11, Martha L. Tamar? 15 1870 Living in the home of James and Martha is John White, wife Jane, and children. I also would like to find the obit for his wife Martha "Patsy" who died the week prior which might help to clear up some of my questions. Any information is appreciated. Thanks, Karen
