Joanne, it just occured to me that I do have the answer...it kept bugging me that I'd seen that in a Chancery suit. So, I checked and found that in 1851 in a case of John D. Kennedy vs. heirs of Edward Cottrell....the heirs named included Nancy Roe. Nancy was first married to David Lasley and when he died she married to Cornelius Roe. Anyway, the suit goes on to say the following children of an unknown heir inherited....these being Oliver M., EMILINE, Augustus, Simeon and James Lasley, minor children of unnamed heir. Unnamed because they could not make the connection to Nancy being a Lasley by her first marriage. So, anyway, here is Emiline daughter of Nancy Cottrell and David Lasley.
