Drema, Today is our lucky day. Mary Gertrude Ledlie married Rev. Walter Deckard. Rev. Deckard was a very prominent Baptist minister. There is a street named after him in Boston; Deckard St. Gertrude and Walter adopted my father, J. Russell Deckard, when he was a baby. Ironically, after I received your email today, I received a box from my brother with loads of material. It included my father's birth certificate identifying who his natural parents were. After my mother's death, I went to live with Gertrude, for two years, in her large home in Newton, MA. Mabel Jones lived in the house next door. I understood there was a relationship there. Thanks to your email, it no appears they were sisters. The attached cemetery markers are of Gertrude, Walter, Gertrude's mother and Amy Ann Tyler. Amy is another relative who I intend to do research on. I hope to get more information from you to fill in the gap between Phineas Matthews and Gertrude and Mabel.
