    1. Re: [OHGALLIA] Symmes Creek Book/ SIMMS, DANNER

    3. Hello, you're very welcome. This book was self published by Wayne B. Ingles in 1976. The only SIMS of any spelling is Albert G. Sims. He is listed as the postmaster for Waterloo, Lawrence Co. Jan. 14, 1886. There is a mention of John Cleave SYMMES. (perhaps pronounced as Sims?) "Symmes Creek was named for John Cleave Symmes. Harrison, Tupper and Symmes were en route up the Ohio River on horse back to attend the court of common pleas at Gallipolis and high water stopped them below the creek. J.C. SYMMES cut his name on a big beech tree and thus named the creek." --------------------------------------------------------------- There are no Danner listings. -------------------------------------------------------------- Also there is someone else who asked for the Sims/Symmes surname as well as a "DENNY" request. You are asking for almost the same, the Sims, and DANNER. Would you like for me to pass on your e-mail address to them? Perhaps you're related? Her name is Nancy. She wrote me off list, so I don't know which list she belongs to, as I'd sent the offer to 4 different Ohio lists. ---April. [email protected] wrote: Hi April, Is the "Symmes Creek" book a new book? When was it published? Do you have a listing for John, William & Thomas Simms/Sims? Danner family? Thanks, KJ --------------------------------- Be a better Globetrotter.
