Hi Henny- Thanks for the link, but what I'm really looking for is information on the Hughes (Beman) Cemetery itself- specifically, the history. At this point I don't know if there is a connection with that Hughes family and mine, but that proximity of that family to where mine lived (Centreville-Thurman) in combination with finding an informant on a death certificate for one of their family members with the same name as one of my great grandfather's brothers is making me wonder if there might be some connection. I'm hoping that learning about the cemetery origin may shine a little light on the situation. Why is this cemetery called Hughes (Beman)? There are no Beman headstones in it. There are also Beamons in my family tree- more cause to wonder. By 1824 William Hughes has joined Anderson H. Hughes in Gallia County. Hill Cemetery was at one time in Gallia Co., but is now just over the line in Jackson Co. Many of Anderson's family married into the Cherrington family of which I am a part. Henny Evans > >
