Now they state that I must come to the Columbus Library to activate it. Is this correct??? Anyone with an Ohio address can get a card from the Columbus Metro Library, using the online application. I did this almost a year ago, after the announcement that Heritage Quest would no longer provide access through OGS (the Ohio Genealogical Society). I have never visited a branch of the library and have no problems using the card to access the on line databases. If you want to check out books, then you need to activate the card by visiting the library and provide your ID for verification. I dunno if anyone else has mentioned this, but residents of Gallia County can access Heritage Quest online in the comfort of their own home just by having a Bossard Library card and a pin number -- it's free! Check your local libraries. Linda Trent [email protected]
