No, I don't think Apologies are necessary, just think back to the census.. If an ancestor was worth $ 2000 back then just think what that worth would be now. Even if the ancestor had listed $200, you think poor man.. only worth 200... wow with that chart, you can well figure that their money went whole lot farther than what our $200 goes for now. I think that genealogy is a basic learning of what our ancestors went through, not just who there were. That piece of property or worth of $2000 might have been worth close to $43317 now, so that ancestor was more well off that I am now.... these little tidbits of extra information.. help put their lives in perspective... and I believe are acceptable.. Just think Charlie, how quicker along in school I would have gotten had that $1 an hour been worth what it is today.. I could have paid my tuition sooner ... and graduated quicker...
