    1. [OHGALLIA] Ohio State Library Genealogical Collection and news gleaned at OGS Conference
    2. Henny Evans
    3. Having just returned from the OGS Conference today, we heard talks from both OHS and the State Library of Ohio about things going on in Columbus. Mr. Paul Immel was honored today as he has been the overseer at the State Library of Ohio for the genealogical collections. He is not leaving the field by any means and it sounds like he has a busy future planned. While there we also learned of the great progress OGS is making toward their new library...they have hopes that it will be open in 2009. It will be an opportunity for them to get MANY one of a kind manuscripts available to all of us. OGS is the largest state Genealogical Society in the U.S. and we in Gallia County are very pleased to be part of such an excellent and outstanding group. We also listened to many excellent speakers and came home with new and exciting ideas. We picked up new members, chatted with many with Gallia connections and sold a very satisfactory amount of books. Henny Evans, Gallia County OGS Chapter

    3. > Having just returned from the OGS Conference today, > we heard talks from both OHS and the State Library of Ohio When you say State Library of Ohio, are you referring to the one over the Ohio Historical Society (the State Archives), or the OGS Library? I'm looking forward to attending the next annual meeting in Cincinnati, and maybe delving into some of the records in Hamilton County while I'm there. Linda Trent [email protected]
