For Pat Loar: Nancy Carter to whom you refer was my ggg grandmother. As Denise mentioned in her post, this Nancy apparently is not the daughter of John Carter and Mary Lehr This Nancy married John Shoemaker in Gallia County, 2Dec1817. They had several children one of whom, Nancy Annette Shoemaker b 2Oct1830 in Gallia County, married John White 15Oct1848 in Gallia County. When John Shoemaker died in 1837, Nancy married John Boster in 1851 to whom you refered. After this John apparently died, she married ? Gouldin in 1852. If you check the Harrison Township Cemetery Book, it states that Nancy is probably buried along with first husband John Shoemaker at White Cemetery. I have been searching for these White - Carter-Shoemaker connections for a long time with no results. Would appreciate any info others might have. Marge White Gigante
