Jean, This is a great website and the index will be expanded soon. It was on another list . They are expanding the death certicates up to 1946 . It won't happen for a little while but that will really help. Speaking of death certificates, the Gallia County OGS is collecting DC to help researchers who come into the Society to lookup their families. The Death Certificate has so much family information. If you have any Death Certificates that you could make copies of and either scan and send them to me or send them to the genealogical society it would be much appreciated. I know that one lady sent us at least 15 of them and they have come in handy already. If you would like to donate copies of your family's death certicates please mail them to Gallia County Historical /Genealogical Society 412 Second Avenue Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 Thank you CHeryl Enyart VP of the Gallia County OGS 412Second Avenue Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 740-446-7200 www.gchags.com histsoc@zoomnet.net Tom Griesan <griesantomjean@msn.com> wrote: There is also an index online for death records for the whole state of Ohio from 1913 through 1937. It's very helpful when you are looking for dates of death for that period. It's at the Ohio Historical Society. The link there is: http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/. You can search by county or even by just first name if you choose. It works well. They used an optical character reader (OCR) to read in the records, and occasionally things aren't quite right. I found one of my Kerr cousins there under Kfrr. I had to search under first name in the right county and found it easily. I hope that this helps. You can order the death certificates for $6 each. - Jean Griesan Colorado Be Well, Do Good Work , Keep In Touch __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
