Gallipolis Tribune May 14, 1925 Obituary Sarah K. Markins Crouse, daughter of William and Sarah Fillinger Markins , was born in Gallia County , Ohio , Aug 21, 1849 and departed this life near her birthplace April 9, 1925, aged 75 years, 8 months and 18 days. She was converted at Macedonia thirty years ago and joined that church where she continued a faithful member until death. She was married to Francis Marion Neal in the year 1870 and to this union were born three children , two of whom died in infancy, and Arthur of Haskin, Ohio. Mr Neal died in the year 1876 and she united in marrieage to JOhn Crouse in 1877. To this union were born two children, namely, Mrs. Gilbert Carter of Huntington, WVa and Mrs. Noah Carter who took care of thier mother in her afflictions. Mrs. Crouse was afflicted by the dreaded disease , tuberculosis; for over a year but was not confined to her bed for more than a few days. In all of her afflictions she bore her suffering without any complaint, only waiting for her Redeemer to call her to her peaceful rest where she will gain a Christian's reward laid up for those who do their Master's will. Mrs. Crouse lived a beautiful life and was loved by all who knew her. She was a kind and dutiful compainion, always helping her husband in all things which are necessary to raising their family. She was a loving mother, very dear to her children and grandchildren . She will be sadly missed by the entire commuity, but mostly by her companion, her children, fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother S. M. Markins of Irwin , Ohio, one sister Susan Brothers of Gallipolis and a host of distant relatives and friends.
