    3. I think that the Nancy Carter you are referring to is a niece or sister of John Carter, this Nancy Carter was born Sept. 1898, married an Allison and died in 1951. However, I am attempting to find out more about the Nancy Carter you mentioned, Henry Carter and Issac Carter. All of these people were in Gallia County early. Let me know if you have the White-Shoemaker-Carter marriages I sent last month. I have been doing background work on the people John Carter sold land to, especially those where the land was sold exceptionally under what should have been market value. There is even a land transaction between John Carter and Armstrong, for dower rights. One piece of land was to a White who had married a Shoemaker, whose mother was a Carter. It is difficult, rather like traveling to Gallipolis from Columbus via Cleveland, but is has established a link between the families. Let me know what information you have on your Nancy and I will add her to the list if she is not already there, I will check.
