Does anyone know the identity of the girl living with David and Rachel Glassburn in the 1850 Gallia County census for Springfield Township? The census record has: 675/685 David Glasburn, 68, male, farmer, b. VA Rachel Glasburn, 69, female, b. VA Samantha J. Bacus, 9, female, b. OH Could Samantha J. Bacus be a granddaughter of David and Rachel? I think she may have been my 2nd great grandmother, Samantha Jane Barcus who was born in Gallia County in December 1840. Hope someone can shed some light on this mystery. Thanks! Julie O'Brien
Julie, I look up the GLASSBURN's on rootsweb it shows that there were 2 daughters and neither married a BACUS but, that doesn't mean it wasn't possible who did Samatha marry and where did she end up? thanks & take care, Debbie ----- Original Message ----- From: <irishjewel@comcast.net> To: <OHGALLIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 28, 2005 11:16 PM Subject: [OHGALLIA-L] Glassburn Family - 1850 Census > Does anyone know the identity of the girl living with David and Rachel Glassburn in the 1850 Gallia County census for Springfield Township? I found my copy I do not find the surname BACUS in the index I checked through the descendants and she was not a grandchild have you looked for her marriage record? have you looked for her death record? have you looked for an obit on her? and I would look for other clues in later censuses take care, Debbie ----- Original Message ----- From: <irishjewel@comcast.net> To: <OHGALLIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 28, 2005 11:16 PM Subject: [OHGALLIA-L] Glassburn Family - 1850 Census > Does anyone know the identity of the girl living with David and Rachel Glassburn in the 1850 Gallia County census for Springfield Township?
