    3. Gallia Times April 23, 1925 In Memory Of Theodore L Northup Mr. Theodore L. Northup passed away at his residence in Gallipolis, April 12, 1925, at the age of 76years. He was the son of Henry C. and Charlotte Gilbert Northup. Two brothers , George H. Northup and Gilbert Northup and three sisters, Mrs. John W. Howell, Mrs. Josiah McCall and Mrs. Wesley Stamper, preceded him to the great beyond. He was married to America VanVleck in 1869 , and to this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Evans. His wife died in 1896. He resided almost his entire life in Gallipolis and Gallia County , having been engaged in farming in his earlier life and in the broom manufacturing business in later years, operating the Northup Broom Works in Gallipolis. He spent some six or seven years in Washington, D.C., and Atlantic City engaged in the manufacturing of brooms. In 1909 he was married to Mrs. Sarah Wheatley of Ashland , Ky. He was a very industrious , noble, kind hearted and highly-respected citizen. His health began to fail some two years ago, but he still , conducted his place of business until six months ago when he was compelled to abandon it and he was , confined to his home the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics and of the Presbyterian church. Services were held at the church April 14th at 2:30 by Rev. John Glenn, with the Jr. O.U.A.M. in charge with interment by W.N. Hayward at Pine Street cememtery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sarah Northup, and his daughter , Mrs. Lottie Evans...
