    3. Mary, in all the years that I have researched land records I have only found one connected to a bounty land property in Gallia Co. I've always understood that there was not supposed to have been bounty land in Gallia County and yet there was that one instance of which I am aware. Neil is right in that not all of the county was covered by the Ohio Co. The rest was purchased directly from the government. Sometimes, as it appears in this case, the deed was filed in a nearby land office, such as Chillicothe, rather than in Gallia Co. Sometimes with BLM if you can not find the piece of land, it means that the person was at least a second owner...not getting it directly from the governement. Henny Evans >

    3. Hi Henny, What I've got is a copy of certificate # 1318 I got from the Gallia Recorders office found in V 19 P31 It's from the United States to Eben Donelson and filed in the Chillicothe office Sept 1, 1827. It grants patent to James Gilliland, the assignee of Ebenezer Donelson. I'm trying to understand what really took place with the transaction. Thanks for the help.
