His father, Moses, had died, now Daniel Haskell Gates was the head of the family with all the wealth and was also POSTMASTER. Brother Virgil was now the Blacksmith and George was the ASST. POSTMASTER (who says nepotism isn't a good thing? ha ha) Anyway, something took all these young men away from Gallipolis-was it the War?
