Susan, Thank you for your post on this situation on the Gallia list. You stated my feelings as well and saved my posting what has been going through my mind since the previous posting. Your words were kinder than some I was thinking, but I also wondered what has happened to the giving, generous, and gracious persons who supported this list. Unnecessary messages are too often posted which are only attempts at oneupmanship, and their additions to my Inbox are unwelcome. I know little of the who and what of the upheaval, but I was concerned about the situation when I received in Jan. a request from the GCHGS to "Please consider rejoining." I am a life member! Susan and Pat, No truer words have been spoken. I didn't mean to start a firestorm by asking the location of OGS conference, my mother just happens to live in Akron! She's 71 today, doesn't get out much, and 5 years ago didn't know anything about her family but her father's name. A nasty divorce of her folks seperated her from all this wonderful history. Thanks to the work of Henny Evans years before my search started we were able to get info on this elusive family. I've enjoyed this list immensely and the help from everyone, where would I be without you all? But is it necessary for you to rub Henny's face in it everytime someone gives thier group attention? There is such an immense amount of info to be had there in Gallia County surely even 5 teams would have trouble gathering it all? Now, that being said, will I stop getting help, my questions unanswered because I owe Henny and have deep respect for her? I've refered people to this list countless times, but if this keeps up...I don't know. I hold nothing against either group, but stop this "one upmanship" Debra Leonard -----Original Message----- From: pegmws@mindspring.com To: OHGALLIA-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, 12 Apr 2005 12:50:13 -0400 Subject: Re: [OHGALLIA-L] O.G.S.
