Linda, This is my family, too, and I know there are several others on the list who are also descendants. I have not personally done anything with first families on ANY of my families, and I know there are some that would qualify. My focus is currently on my father's family. This line is from my mom's side. I have some information that I can dig through, and will be glad to share what I have if it is of any use to you or others. My cousin, Anita, has done most of the research on my mom's family. In her history (thie regarding Walter Neal, Jr.) Anita states that "An article in "Ohio Records and Pioneer Families"- volume 3 p.186 states that Walter Neal, come to Gallia County in 1820. His son Thomas Neal in an interview in "Jackson Semi Weekly Sun" on Auguat 21, 1916, claimed that he was born on Storms Creek in Lawrence County, Ohio, on March 29, 1816, and that the family then moved to Symmes Creek." Regarding a daugter of Walter, Sr. named Delila, she writes that "Around 1810, the family (Delila and husband John Hall) moved to French Grant in Scioto County, snf in 1827 they moved to Symmes Creek in Aid Twp., Lawrence County, to join Walter Neal and Polly Neal Burk." Son Charles "arrived in Gallia County in 1824." Rachel Neal and her husband Charles Knox constructed their home by 1826 and it is said that it was on the county line between Lawrence and Gallia. Anita says legend says they "ate in one county and slept in another." I am descended through son Daniel, who Anita says moved to Lawrence County in 1824. Into Walnut Twp. Gallia in 1830 and back to Lawrence Co. around 1833. She says there is a Daniel Neal in the 1820 Lawrence Co. census, but that is a different Daniel Neal. I have a little information, but not much on Winifred's father, who Anita lists as being John Wood, who died 1780 in Washington Co, TN. His father is listed as Thomas. His wife was Agnes. Hope this is helpful. If others have more information, I hope they will share it.
