Thanks, Pat, for your offer to check cemetery records for Mason Co. WVA. Would you see if you can find a date of death for a James HAMPTON. I last found him on the 1890 Veterans census, living in Mason Co. WVA. He served in the Civil War with the Ohio troops. I found his son, Hiram HAMPTON, who also served in the war with his father, James, married in Mason Co. WVA, late moved to Kansas, but no record of what happened to James.
