Greetings, all. My name is Doug Uptegraft. I hope that this e-mail group is still in service, because I would love to connect with others doing research in or around Gallia County, Ohio. My mother was Thelma J. (Martin) Uptegraft. She died earlier this year very suddenly. Ever since, I have been drawn to study her side of my family tree. Her mother Lena (Myers) Martin is still alive at nearly 90 years of age, but doesn't seem to remember much about the subject of ancestors; her parents were Joshua Myers and Phoebe (Lutz?) Myers. My grandfather was John L. Martin, son of James E. Martin and Celia (Fuller) Martin. I have quite a few census records regarding the family, probably the most conclusive "proof" of lineage that I have. I am genuinely hoping to find others who know more than I do. I will keep this e-mail short as I do not know how much use this e-mail list gets. If it isn't very busy, I figure that I haven't lost anything more than a couple of minutes in typing what I have today. Thank you, Doug
