Bibby, of Charleston, West Virginia. It seems there has always been a close connection between the two. All my Gates ancestors who started out in Gallia County, OH, ended up in Kanawha County, WV, except, of course, poor ggg grandfather, Moses, who rests in one of the cemeteries in Gallipolis! My own grandfather, LeRoy Madison Gates, eloped with my grandmother, Madeleine Virginia Hume, lied about their ages and married in Gallipolis, as well, in 1921 (any record of that?)
