Oh, Charlie: I forgot my geography! I knew that two rivers formed the Ohio at Pittsburgh, but I forgot that the Monongahela went through Morgantown. Shame on me for a real BONER! I used to know that, but not going to WVU (go Mountaineers) that part of my Golden Horseshoe was temporarily unavailable from storage. The good part is, that, as soon as I read this, I remembered, too, which means the data was still in the data base. (smile!) I am not sure of the trails they might have taken to get over those mountains, but I am sure it was fairly easy.......not easy for them, of course, but relatively easy compared to other ways. I remember about the Monongahela because my 5th great grandfather was Jacob Prickett of "Prickett's Fort" a, now reconstructed, pioneer fort in the area. It is not a state park located in Fairmont, WVA just south of Morgantown. Some of the Morgan's married into the Prickett family. As a matter of fact, most of the Prichard's around Gallia County are probably descended from Jacob as well.............through Prudence Prichard, wife of Gabriel Houck.......
