Very true, but that is easy to say in 2005 with crop rotation and modern farm equipment, fertilizers and County Extension Agents! In those days, they had to hack it out of the wilderness sometimes dealing with hostile Native Americans at the same time. I still take my hat off to them all--life was hard then. I think of that everytime it takes me two hours to cook a meal on an open fire at camp.
