[This article was transcribed without making changes to spelling or grammar.] Athens Messenger November 10, 1887 GALLIA The Gallipolis Bulletin on Tuesday says: Our neighboring village of Adamsville has a sensation. One morning last week, Mr. Tobin, of that place, arose early and went to work, leaving his wife, Mrs. Lucinda Tobin, in bed. After the departure of Mr. Tobin, John Butcher entered the house, and got in bed with Mrs. Tobin, while she was yet asleep. She was awakened by Butcher and detecting him by his voice, drove him from the house, and had him arrested, on the charge of rape. Transcribed by Joyce Robinson
