Mary, It was Diane (NelsonMN7) and myself, Debra that were interested in the John Cooper estate file. Both of us are looking into this family (that is if it is the John as in John & Aletha Cooper, I have the will of John C. Cooper) Debra -----Original Message----- From: Mary Lee Davis Marchi <mlmquilt@zoomnet.net> To: OHGALLIA-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Mon, 14 Mar 2005 15:10:26 -0500 Subject: [OHGALLIA-L] Estate of John Cooper Cheryl & ????, I accidentally deleted the message of the person wanting the estate papers of John Cooper. In Wills & Estates 1803-1900 (Gallia County Historical/Genealogical Society publication) John is listed as such: Cooper, John E-1862 CJ1, p.400; C-552 As you are well aware we have both the Civil Journal 1 and the actual estate papers (C-552) at the Historical/Genealogical Society). I will pull both out tomorrow morning when I go to work and you can give to them to the person who asked for them. After reading these postings, I have to ask a question about this John Cooper. Is he the one who was born abt 1815 in Maryland, according to the 1860 census and listed with his wife Letha? Does anyone have an idea as to his parents? Cunningham Sample Cooper was in Gallia county in the 1820's and I wonder if he could be a son of C. S. Cooper. C. S. Cooper had a son b. 1813 that we have no record on. Anyone have any ideas?
