Baltzell passed away at her home in Washington, D.C. , Sunday evening , March 1, 1914. The remains were brought here and taken to the resdience of her sister, Mrs. Harriet M. Gardner of upper Second Avenue, where the funeral services were held, burial following at the Pine Street Cemetery by undertaker Hayward. Mrs Baltzell was a daughter of James and Cornelia Beard and was born in Trumbull county in 1831, coming to Gallia County with her parents in 1834. They located on a farm near Rodney and moved to Gallipolis in 1839. In 1847 she was married to John Baltzell. Three sons John, George and James was born to this union. Her husband and sons George and James having died , she moved to Washington, D.C. to make her home with her son John. Mrs. Baltzell was a fine woman , whose death will be regretted by a large circle of friends.
