[This article was transcribed without making changes to spelling or grammar.] Athens Messenger January 19, 1888 GALLIA The Gallipolis Bulletin says: A very pleasant wedding took place on Thursday afternoon, at the residence of Col. T. W. Hampton, above town, when his daughter, Miss Maggie, was married to Mr. Chas. F. Ritter, of Tippecanoe City, Ohio. The Gallipolis Journal says: Mr. Ed. Chambers had been blind in one eye for 57 years. Four years ago, by accident, the sight of the other one was totally destroyed. Dr. A?con operated on the one which had been sightless for 57 years, and now he can see to recognize a person with it on the street and is a happy man again. Transcribed by Joyce Robinson
