I thought I had a copy of the Cemetery Book for Addison Township - I have Cheshire, Gallipolis, Morgan, but Addison isn't in my bookcase. I am looking for the graves of the Petty brothers and their wives. One brother was living in Addison Township in 1840, the other in Gallipolis. I checked the books I have and didn't find them. Hugh Petty died abt 1843, his wife Lucy (nee McAboy) died between 1870-1880. His brother was Lemuel Petty and ?. Apparently they both died in Feb 1860 - leaving at least 3 young children that went to live with their Aunt Lucy Petty. Thanks, SueEd NY __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I have the Addison Cemetery book and there is no Petty's listed in it. I have all the cemetery books if you would want me to look in a different one. Thanks Marjorie, and Cheryl..... I doubt if they were buried elsewhere in Gallia. They had connections in Meigs, Lucy ended up there in 1850 or 60 ; and further back in Athens county. Cheryl, I would be interested in the information you have. Lemuel had a brother, Hugh. I believe Hugh's wife, Lucy McAboy, is sister to Rev James McAboy - Baptist turned Presbyterian minister; also an Ohio University Trustee; her brother, Thomas, is listed as a physician. It is a colateral line. We (another researcher and I are working on the McAboys) believe Lucy to be the aunt of Clarissa McAboy. She (Clarissa) married Giles S. Case. He had connections with Case, Sisson and Mathews families in Gallia county. In the Meigs Mortality Schedule for 1850, I found a Lucetta Case, aged 7 (could be 7 months) having died in Aug 1849 of croop. I am trying to connect her to Giles S.Case and his wife Clarissa McAboy. In the Gallia Book of Wills and Estates, there is a listing for Giles Case (JWBE, pg 565). Would these refer to guardianship of minor children? Also, Luther Case (JWBC, pp 465, 570; JWBD pp--- 34. 173,184). What would be the quickest way to get copies of these? Writing directly to the courthouse, or asking someone at the historical society? I know some courthouse's can take months to respnd to requests for copies. Again, thanks for your response to my question. SueEd NY __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Marjorie, Could you please lookup in the Addison Cemetery book for Robert & Sarah Ray? They disapeared after 1860 census. Thank you, Rex Ray. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marjorie L.
