I'm not Joyce but the newspapers are there in the public library and from Ohio Historical Society for this time period. The years span from 1817 I think and then up to now. At one time there were 3 newspapers, some of them overlap which gives you achance to compare the infomation. But they do have the 1840-50 newspapers at the library Cheryl " Pam C." <plculver@pcisys.net> wrote: Joyce, please continue your hard and valuable work transcribing these newspapers. Do you happen to know if there were any newspapers in Gallia County in the 1840-1850 time period? Do you happen to know what the names of those papers were? I can see if Ancestry.com has them online. Gallipolis Bulletin and Gallipolis Journal were published in the 1840's and 1850's. Available for sell is a copyrighted book..."Death Notices, Obituaries and Marriages Taken from the Gallia County Newspapers, 1825-1875" by Mary P. Wood and Henrietta C. Evans. If anyone would like a copy, I personally have them for sell and you may contact me privately about purchase at hcevans@eurekanet.com. Henny Evans
