    3. I just now read my mail, some of my questions have been answered. Back to genealogy, I received a response from the Athens Hospital inquiry and they could not locate Norman Campbell in their list of graves. The graves are numbered and correspond with files. It was conveyed that many patients were returned to their respective homes to be buried. Has anyone ever run across a Norman Campbell, born 1856, died (approx.) 1880 (Wilsena Prose) in any cemetery in Gallia County? Wilsena was listed as married, not widowed on the 1880 census and married William Shaw in 1881. I am hoping that he died in this time frame due to the lack of a actual date of death. Norman had 4 children, John E., Phoebe (Malone), Mida Belle (Carter) and Sarah Ann (? another time), so I would hope that he was buried in Gallia County. He may have been buried in a Prose family plot, young widow with four children? Does this name look familiar to any Prose researcher? Thank you for any assistance, next I check their old back yard. Denise

    3. I would be willing to bet money that your Norman Campbell is related to the Campbell's in my family tree. One of my Campbells even married a Prose, and we know how those families all married into the same family as the others did....... My family tree is available, online, at www.hazlett.net On 3/10/2005, "Denise Ashleman" <saultz@bellsouth.net> wrote: >I just now read my mail, some of my questions have been answered. 3. Denise, What part of the county was your Prose's? Somewhere I have some information on some Prose's that my mother-in-law did for her sister that was married into the Prose family. I will try this weekend to find it and let you know what I find. Marjorie L. 3. I have found the information on the Prose family and I'm not sure it will help you, Denise. It is about Jehu Washington Prose born in Gallia County 20 April 1810. This is a family history that was sent to my mother-in-law but it has no documentation on any of the information. It sounds as if Jehu Washington Prose was illegitimate as its says" His mother Eve Prose was a sister to Daniel Prose who adopted him and raised him to manhood. His mother, afterward married a Mr. Smith and they had 4 children (and it names the children) in Illinois." If anyone on the list would like to see the information I can send it to you but as I said, it is not documentation. It is five pages but very little information on Gallia County. It might be some help to someone and point you in the right direction to search for this family. Marjorie L.
