    3. Ok, I was so hoping that you knew something I had not found. I can guess he's the father but absolutely no proof. Someone else on the list had a different father for David, so that makes me even less sure. Thanks for checking, Henny

    3. Debbie, that's exactly the one I"m interested in! Thanks. Now, what I need is to be able to prove that David is Frederick's son. I know Frederick lives with David in 1860 and I know he sells him land. But it's not for a $1.00 and love and affection but hundreds of dollars so no clue that he's father and son. There's no probate for Frederick to name David and as I don't know his death date, no obit. David's obit does not name his parents. So, I'd love to know your proof...that would be perfect. Thanks, Henny dhodge8099@aol.com wrote: I have a Frederick Hanger born about 1791 in Virginia and is not listed in the 1870 Census.? I am hunting for Frederick born about 1799 in VA, still alive in 1860 and a possible son David, born about 1824 in Ohio with wife Elizabeth. Lived in Springfield Township. Does anyone have information on them? I see no connection YET with the Johann Henger who lived and died in WV before the Frederick Hanger who was here. 1. [OHGALLIA] More books on sale
    2. Henny Evans
    3. Recently, in April, we (Gallia County Genealogical Society, OGS Chapter) attended the Ohio Genealogical Conference in Cincinnati. We enjoyed meeting so many of you. Our table was in the hall where many had to pass by on the way to classes, and we had silk screened t-shirts and key finders and knick-knacks in addition to our books so we had excellent luck with our sales. But what I wanted to tell you is that while there we were awarded our 25 year certificate! When I stop to think that we've been helping others for a quarter of a century it's mindboggling. We're celebrating 25 years in a lot of different ways. One of them is that through the end of this year we will have 25 items, mostly books, but a few of our framed photographs of Gallipolis, on sale for 25% off for our 25th year! We've had 10% off but never 25% until this year! So, go to galliagenealogy.org, scroll all the way down on the left and click on publications. Then click on sale at the top of the page. There's even a printable order form. Everything we have on the website IS in stock. No waiting and we mail usually within 24 hours of order receipt. We also have a new very inexpensive book, History of Gallia Co. taken from Henry Howe's Historical Collections of Ohio. Checks or money orders are fine. Thanks and while there cruise around our website. We've recently added more obituaries and don't forget to put your family reunion there, too. Lots of nice photos to look at as well. If you have an obit or something else to contribute, just let us know and we'll post it. We've also added more to our tombstones. Corrections as well as new names. Enjoy! Henny Evans

    3. They ALL had a son named "Henry". You're talking about a different Henry than I am talking about. Joseph Garber Rife married Margaret Carpenter. Joseph was born in 1758 and died in 1827. HIS son named "Henry" was born in 1790 and died in 1833. He ALSO had a brother named Joseph who was born in 1787 and died in 1871. According to my files Henry Rife (1790-1833) was the third son of Joseph Rife Sr. and Margaret Carpenter. The Joseph who married Elizabeth howard was born in 1787 so I don't think he had a son in 1790. This Joseph and Henry were brothers not father and son.
