Hi Gerald, I'm not Joyce but am wondering. Do you use the Search for Ancestors Box or do you use the Search or Browse For Your Ancestors in a Specific Collection? This is located beneath the first box. You then select the area you are interested in. They have added so much more information, the search engines must work a lot harder to sift through all of it so if you narrow your search to a specific area, it might work better. I am wondering if there is a place where you can request corrections? I ran into a death certificate for one of my ancestors that the transcribe had a problem with the abbreviation for Ohio. They used IA instead of OH. It was not a one time error but others in the same general area. I let it go but probably should have tried to have it corrected. Back to the original question: I just did a death record search for Scott Wilson and found 561 in the entire collection' 68 in Ohio; and 4 in Gallia County. See the message I just sent regarding this. At least I only got 23, and my guy was number 4 on the list, so I didn't have to look very hard. I just thought I'd report the results of today's search - 23 hits, and my search criteria was absolutely no different than the three or four separate times I tried yesterday, but I might have located a clue. When I spotted the Scott Wilson whose record I wanted to look at, I accidentally hit the name of the wrong guy. When I tried to go back and get the right one, I got a screen offering to refine my search. So, I typed in the name again and got a screen saying my search returned no results, so all 23 Scott Wilsons that had been there just a moment before were gone! I now have the list again, but I had to back all the way out and go to the log in page and start from the beginning again. So, perhaps it's the Refine Search feature that's the buggiest. Now I don't happen to remember where I was when I began to notice the problem, but it was real, so I'm not crazy after all! (Well, not totally certifiable anyway.) Remember that anything in the labs.familysearch.org is a work in progress. They have a disclaimer that at times records may not be available and the site will change. Up in the top right is a feedback button. Please submit your ideas there. There is also a discussion board/wiki - https://wiki familysearch.org/en/Main_Page If someone wanted to they can add info on https://wiki.familysearch.org/en/Gallia_County%2C_Ohio a Gallia county page - nothing there yet but we could add links to the various Gallia websites. It takes a log in id which is free of course. You need to learn their new method. I like to put in a last name (Ohio Deaths) then enter Gallia, Ohio, United States. This brings up the Record Details View. You can click on any name you wish and it will bring up that name. The tricky part, when finished with this name, Do Not Click ON The Back Arrow, this will shut you down. Click on Record Details (found between the record you are viewing and the index of names on the left side of the page). This takes you back to the Record Details View. If you have selected the Record Image View (original death cert.) then you would need to click on Record Image, Record Details, found in the same location. If you have trouble following my directions, let me know and I will try again off list. In a big hurry as hubby is calling. This is also true, but there were other railroads involved in the creation of CSX. B&O and C&O, became the Chessie, I think. (Chessie might have just been a nickname). Then others were purchased by Chessie and those became CSX. Half of Conrail was the latest major component of CSX. Those two plus 6 other railroads of the northwest US became Conrail. In the 1990's Conrail was purchased, split up, and now CSX owns half and the N&W owns half. I worked for Conrail for many years and retired from CSX. On 6/16/2008, "Regina Smith" <ras411934@yahoo.com> wrote: >No!
