    3. Beth, I would be interested in the Monroe Co. marriages. Thanks, Carolyn clerk6363@yahoo.com ----- Original Message ---- From: Beth Haney <bhaney@speakeasy.net> To: ohgallia@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, June 20, 2008 7:34:03 PM Subject: [OHGALLIA] More marriage records I now have lists of Gallia County marriages for the Wilson surname and the Coleman surname from 1803 to 1900. They, too, are in PDF format, and I'll e-mail them to anyone who is interested, as well as mail them to Gallia County with the Scott marriages. (I didn't get the confirmation of addresses in time for yesterday's run to the post office.) AND, if anyone is interested, I have a 28 page PDF of early marriages from Monroe County (W)VA for the period 1799 through 1819, although there is a notation that the records for the years 1809 and 1810 were not on the microfilm. Half of the document is alphabetized by brides' surnames and the other half alphabetized by grooms'. I won't be printing and mailing it since it's so big and also perhaps not of much interest to Gallia county researchers. Although, if anyone locally wants to print it, that's fine. I downloaded it from a Monroe County site years ago, but I can't find it again now. :( ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to OHGALLIA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. While thinking about the Scott marriages Beth has spoke of. Out of curiosity Was there any for the Gordon ( Robert E and Sarah Cale), Swisher ( Sarah Gordon Swisher and John Henry ),Trout (Catherine), Fauber,Savage in Meigs County, and Adam Palmer linage ??? They could be in Gallia, Meigs or the southern Counties. May be from Mason ,County W. Va. The varied linage apparently migrated from Rockbridge ,County about 1800. Tim

    2. Marjorie I would very much be interested in your articles Sharon In a message dated 6/18/2008 4:33:58 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, mlwood@eurekanet.com writes: If you enjoyed the information about the Chesse kittens, I have other informational items in my collection. If you get the Historical Society's newsletter the Glade then you would have seen two articles I submitted about the Education in Gallia County. These were from a thesis written by a great-great-aunt who taught at Huntington East High School in Huntington, WV. Unfortunately, the series will not be continued because there were some at the Historical Society that felt they could not print an original paper without changes which was done without my permission. I felt if it could not be printed as she wrote it then it should not have been printed at all. I have considered having my son-in-law set up a website for me to post all the historical items that I have so others could enjoy them. While sorting through boxes I have found some very interesting items that is between things I have and things my mother-in-law had. As I get things organized I will try to put pieces of information on the web list and if anyone would like to read more then I can send it to you personally. Currently, I am working on transcribing my Great-grandmother Emma "Grandma" Gatewood's diaries of her hiking the Appalachian and Oregon trails. This is a long process as they are very small notebooks and have to be blown up on the computer so I can read them. I have already transcribe another family members diary with many dates of births, deaths and marriages.
