    2. cheryl enyart
    3. To the person who wrote about the Str. Princess out of the port of Gallipolis. Please write me again. I accidently deleted the original. I looked up the name Princess in the Fred Way book, there are 11 of them but none from Gallipolis. I belong to Sons and Daughters of the Pioneer Rivermen, and went on to the steamboat.org board. John Fryant , who is an excellent model builder says, that it might be one of his. Is there a possiblity that you could send me the picture you took. John says that sometimes models are made of famous riverboats, but most of the time they are fictious names, that the modeler has made up. I have one that my dad built. I is a beautiful little steamer towboat. He called it the Jimmy D, after my young brother who died at the age of 9, so, I know what John speaks of. 1. Women's History Month
    2. Mary Lee Davis Marchi
    3. Back to genealogy. March is Women's History Month, so does anyone have a unique and fascinating women in their family that lived in Gallia County? Tell us her story. I have an interesting story about the sister of my 4th Great Grandfather James William Glenn and daughter of William & Ann Curry Glenn. Weltha Electa Glenn Adney DOB 11 Jan 1811 and DOD 30 Aug 1868, both in Huntington Township. This was taken from an Adney Family Book --------- The story goes ---- According to nephews and nieces of Weltha Electa Glenn Adney, (in Adney's book), she was tall, fair, had blue eyes and was "marvelous". She was an animated person. "When she wasn't talking, she was laughing, and always on the go." She and her family didn't run on any schedule. They might not eat dinner till 11:00 P.M. You could find her and her children still in bed at noon. They lived a free lifestyle. They pictured her running with two pails of water jumping over the "low bars with a whoop like an Indian." Sounds like 4th great grandaunt Weltha Electa was a woman ahead of her time, she could fit into today's lifestyle very easily. You need to know that Weltha Electa was Scotch-Irish (Ulster Scot) so that may account for her fair looks and unconventional lifestyle. I would have loved to have known this woman, to have lived in this manner in that time frame, she was a woman before her time. There are several people on this list that are direct descendants of her, lucky you I am jealous. If you are really lucky maybe you inherited some of her loving and free spirited genes. I hope her brother lived the same lifestyle and passed them on down the line to his descendants. I know many of you have interesting ancestors with wonderful stories, please share. Mary Lee

    3. People must not forget that the group that established the group in 1983 have been the stalwarts of the genealogical society all the time up until recently when a new group who thought they could do better proclaimed themselves "king of the domain". They also have not been the workers for everyone on the projects that have been printed. Have they shown what they are worth in any of the material that has been put out in print. Look at the names that are associated with the materials in print! My name is on quite a few of the printed materials, not theirs!
