Harold, I was into the Historical/Genealogical Society today. There is a binder on Moses Gee and on the Gleasons that married into that line. Also I checked the Moses Gee file for FF and it is there, also there are quite a few persons who have gone in on Moses Gee. If you will email me at trayne1837inc@yahoo.com with what you would like for me to look for in either the binder or the FFfiles I will be glad to do that. CHeryl Enyart VP Gallia County OGS chapter. I did not know that any of this line had moved to southern Ohio. I think your Sr Moses Gee was the son of Joseph Gee who was the son of William Gee [bc 1704 in Dutchess Co, NY] & Catherine De Rossel. I descend from William Gee & Catherine DeRossel through their son Derosel (aka Roswell,Rozel) Gee and his daughter Elizabeth Gee[b: April 7, 1770 in Peekskill, Dutchess Co, NY] who married Petrus Wolfen. Their son Moses Wolfen[baptism February 23, 1791 in Saugerties, Ulster Co, NY] removed from NY to MI. Sandi

Linda, You only need one copy of documents per soldier. You only need one soldier, but it is ok to have more. One copy of the form, then we make 2 copies of it to send to the state and national. Marjorie and I are not sure of the next step after we have the 10 ladies that are to form a tent.| I have been in contact with Mary Evelyn and when we are done we will have her to come and check the applications . You can bring them if you want. We are just going to try and set up meeting schedule and some other things that are coming up. Even though we are not yet a tent it would be nice to help the SUV with the Memorial Day Ceremony in Pine Street . I have talked to Jim Oiler and he is setting up the program for it now. I enjoyed the website! I'll have to look at cemetery photos I had taken to see if I can add anything. You had mentioned that there were many small cemeteries on family farms. I had visited a family plot which was located on a farm in the Kyger area. The family who currently owns the farm and Shari Creech were so kind as to hike with me to the location. It was a wonderful experience. I'm just curious, is there anything being done to preserve these family sites? Harold, I am not for certain but I do believe that we have a binder on the GEE family. I am pretty sure that you are correct in the notion that Moses Gee was here before 1820. I kept running into that name when looking for Moses FEE. I thought that they had made a typo in the books, but later met a lady from Texas doing genealogy on Moses GEE. I will check for you tomorrow on the binder and the FF status. OK, I found John, Moses, and Thomas Gee all in the 1820 census, but not before.Moses is listed in Huntington Township. He could have been here after the chattel list of 1819 was taken. With him in the 1820 census that makes him a canidate for FF. I looks like Gallia County has done a great job in identifying and documenting Gallia County cemeteries. Over 500. Wow. But, are we saying that establishing and enforcing laws to protect graveyard peripherys is impracticable if not impossible? More specifically, what can be done to get rid of the auto junk yard bounding Ewington Cemetery in Huntington Township? It looks like the cemetery and the junk yard are in somebody's backyard. Does that mean they own the cemetery (and its inhavitants) and can do anythine they want to do with it? And can deny access to it? Jerry, It is very unlikely that they own the Ewington Cemetery but I imagine that the cemetery property butts up against the junkyard property . You could contact the township trustees to see if they could answer your question. You can contact the County Commissioners Office at the courthouse and ask who the trustees for that townhip are. I would then either call them or write them a letter about your concerns. One of those family sites is in a family's front yard. They have built a small iron fence around it and take very good care of it. But that isn't the case for the others, most of them lay in disrepair. Cheryl Vicki Mackie <vickimackie@comcast.net> wrote:I enjoyed the website!
