Hi Guys! Finally, after much fanfare and baited breath, my Tope family history has been uploaded to the publisher, and I have placed an order for two copies of the hardcover, and one of the coil bound. I wanna make certain there are no horrific errors made at the time of uploading them to the publisher before I really let them out to the general public, but I'm so excited I can't help but to brag just a tiny bit now. :-) Three cheers to Nerd Computer Solutions here in Gallipolis for helping me with this project, getting the fonts and images embedded, putting it in PDF format, and then spending about 2.5 hours this afternoon with me as we struggled to get Lulu to accept this that and the other. I can't thank them enough as Lulu is extremely picky about everything, but as you can see by the price of the books -- it's clear why I wanted to go with them. Either of the two following links will take you directly to where you can buy the book, as well as to a page where you can preview eight pages. In the preview I have the table of contents, one section on George W. Tope and William Donaldson, and another is a sample of the Civil War letters from George W. to his son William G. Tope, a sample of the bibliography, and a sample of the index. The hardcover is $25.04 plus $2.96 for shipping USPS Media Mail. http://www.lulu.com/content/966778 152 pages, 8.25" x 10.75", casewrap-hardcover binding. The paperback is $12.57 plus $2.96 for shipping USPS Media Mail. http://www.lulu.com/content/978528 152 pages, 8.5" x 11", coil binding. The book is complete with a six page bibliography and a 19 page index! Both books are identical on the interior except that the hardcover has a photograph of my great grandparents and their three children on it, whereas the paperback has a simple family tree on the cover. I believe that the paperback will also say on the inside page that "the photo on the cover is William G and family," but hey, if that's the only error... :-) It should take around 5 business days to get the paperback and 15 business days to get the hardcover (one goes to OGS). Once I've reviewed them and make certain there isn't anything seriously wrong with them I'll let you all know, and whoever's interested can order direct from Lulu. That way you save on double shipping (them to me and me to you). Linda Trent. [email protected] Carroll: Tope, Donaldson, Robertson, Everhart, Bowers... Could be that the Bemans owned the land. They were prolific in that area as well. Hi, Mary- I haven't seen the actual book but someone once emailed me some of the information. Does that book have any history on the cemeteries? My known Hughes family is in the Hill Cemetery. There are a few Hughes's in that cemetery whose names I don't recognize from my own family- the Edward that started all this is one of those. I believe that the Richard buried in the Beman Cemetery is Edward's father. But where did did that family originate? Your Hughes line doesn't ring any bells so far, but I'll let you know if anything changes. Many thanks!
